Welcome to the Genealogy Resources Center

The Genealogy Resources Center (GRC) is a unique link-based website where registered users directly contribute and maintain the links. Rather than submitting a website link for inclusion and then waiting for it to be approved or denied, the requested link immediately appears on the GRC pages, ready and available for everyone to use. After a short probationary period the link becomes a permanent part of the GRC site.

The Genealogy Resources Center is also "self-cleaning" when it comes to broken links. If enough users report a link to be broken it is automatically removed from view. This should significantly reduce the number of broken links you encounter, unlike many other link sites that are maintained by an overworked administrator.

For registered members, the Genealogy Resources Center also boasts a powerful key word search feature that quickly searches all pages for matches and ranks them in order of relevance.

The search feature is only one of the many advanced features available only to registered users.

The Genealogy Resources Center is free for all to use, but only registered users can use the advanced features of the site. Registration is free so

Quick tip!

If you have a mouse with a scroll wheel you can quickly change the font size of the text within the Genealogy Resources Center. Hold down your Ctrl key while using the scroll wheel. Scroll up on the wheel to make the text bigger and down to make it smaller.

You asked for it!

You've asked for a way to post notes to pages and discuss topics. Those who ask shall receive.

I've been experimenting with integrating some forum software (phpBB and others) into the GRC site, but haven't found one that will handle the sheer volume of pages that exist in GRC (over 127,000), so I've written a simple message board system for our registered users.

Each page has it's own discussion board, and topics can be created and replied to by any registered user. We are happy to provide this valuable tool to you and hope that it will become an instrumental part of your successful research.

Be sure to make your email address "public" if you want others to be able to contact you. You can make your email address public on your "Account Settings" page. When you do, a link will appear in all your posts allowing others to send you an email.

Please let us know of any problems you encounter while using this new feature by sending an email to the administrators and explaining the problem.

The GRC has gone global!

Currently there are registered users on four of the earth's seven continents! Registered users are in the following countries:

BelgiumSouth Africa
CanadaUnited Kingdom
NetherlandsUnited States
NigeriaUruguay
Poland

Being a relatively new site, most bugs are gone, but a few may appear here and there. If you find one, please send an email to the administrators and explain the problem.
